The Tree Fairy

Listener to Growing Things

Glinda's father can hear trees growing: a slow, creaking hum that most of us mistake for the wind.

He helps them rise by calling them up from inside themselves, patient as moss.

He is strong, but he also knows when to put away his wand, kneel in the dirt, and look for a tiny problem beneath the soil.

His magic

Earthy, attentive, and full of growing things.

  • Sage
  • Moss green
  • Warm earth

Where you might find him

In the Woodland Grove, usually with an ear pressed to a trunk.

A few favorite things

  • The hum of a waking oak
  • Muddy knees
  • Seedlings that finally sprout
A small whimsical detailSometimes the biggest tree in the grove is waiting on something very small underground.
